A Word from the
Superintendent...
The Friday Night Lights are back on, and Pearland is ready to
come out and celebrate student performance and success. The
City of Pearland and Pearland ISD are destination places, and
these events showcase why. The spectacle of student-athletes
and fine arts performances combined with community support
is a glimpse at what builds Pearland proud.
As you watch the performances tonight and at every event,
think about the behind-the-scenes effort and work it takes to put on this show of student
excellence. In Pearland ISD we focus on how we model, nurture, and share our collective
culture. You will witness hard work, resiliency, and passionate pursuit of purpose.
As we kick off the new season, remember we are not building a school district; we are building
community. As you sit in the stadium today, look around at our team. Not just the players and
coaches on the field, but the community of supporters in the stands. We are Pearland ISD!
We are a team that honors our traditions, embraces our present realities, and educates to
shape our future.
Our educators touch the future daily as they work with students to reach their full potential. In
every corner of Pearland ISD, we push for shared accountability, seek innovation, cultivate
growth, and celebrate success.
Together we are Pearland ISD. Together we build Pearland proud!

A Word from the Principal...
Oilers Football is back! The lights are on and it’s time for the Oiler Spirit to
shine. The tradition continues with a new look and new field. We are excited to
see The Rig at capacity with the Oiler Faithful cheering us on. There is nothing like
Friday night when we all come together to watch the Pride of Pearland Band, Oiler
Cheerleaders, our Prancers, and to cheer on the Oiler football team as they strive
for victory! Bring your excitement and spirit to show our opponents why The Rig is
a special place to compete.
It is such a blessing to serve Pearland High School’s community, students, and staff
where expectations of academic excellence, athletic dominance, and exemplary extra-curricular participation
continues. This starts with a dynamic staff dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment that holds
a high standard. Walking the halls of our campus, you can feel the tradition and great people who have set the
standard of excellence for Pearland High School. When seeking our tradition, look no further than the names of
Sheryl Searcy and G. Preston Bullard proudly displayed on and in our building. Our staff is driven to continue
the success laid before us! Pearland High School’s long-standing tradition is known far beyond the Greater
Houston Area. This is only possible because our wonderful community generously supports all our programs.
I thank you for making a positive impact on the experiences of our students and staff. Without you, none of
our success is possible. So let the sun set, turn on the lights, cheer loud, cheer proud, and LIGHT UP THE

A Word from the Athletic Director...
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. It is with great anticipation that we look
forward to the start of the school year and football season this fall. It shall prove to
be another exciting season.
Friday nights gift us time to reminisce with the sights and sounds from the past,
the banners, the bright lights, the incredible halftime performances, the whistles
blowing, the scoreboard buzzing, the grimaces after an ear shattering tackle, and
the legendary football stories that dominate conversation in the fall.
Friday nights are synonymous to the rich tradition of football in the great state Texas. They connect the com-
munity by bridging the gap of past generations. We all certainly have high school memories that take us back
to when we were kids and enjoyed Friday nights with all our friends at the stadium.
Today, you get to share those experiences with your children and grandchildren and make new memories.
