In 2016 and 2017, George Ranch moved
up to Class 6A with trips to the post-sea-
son both years. Those would be the final
two seasons for Tullos before departing
for Class 6A Pearland High School.
Tullos began his new journey with
the Oilers in 2018. Pearland immediately
responded to his leadership and the
O i l e r s captured the Dis-
trict 23-6A cham-
pionship and
closed out the
regular season
with a perfect 10-0 mark.
Tullos is native of Cleve-
land, TX and a graduate
of Cleveland High School
and Sam Houston State
University. Ricky has been mar-
ried to his wife Tara for 20 years. Tullos
has two children, Andrew (20) and Tanner (19).
Tullos started his coaching career at Splendora
High School where he was the defensive coordinator
for six years. Tullos then became the head coach at Cleveland,
George Ranch, and now at Pearland High School.
The Pearland mentor has received numerous “Coach of the Year” honors, mul-
tiple district championships, and a Class 5A Div. I state championship in 2015 at
George Ranch. Tullos enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing.
