A Word from the Superintendent . . .

There are few places like Friday Night Lights to see what makes Pearland ISD and the
City of Pearland such a special place. The spectacle of student-athletes and fine arts per-
formances combined with community support is a glimpse
at what builds Pearland proud. During the game, we often
forget the many hours of practice and preparation our stu-

dents and staff contribute to our Friday night showcase. This
public showcase reflects what happens in our classrooms
every day - hard work, resiliency, and passionate pursuit of
purpose. Our fundamental focus is building a positive culture
that understands connections must happen before content
can be delivered. Our all-learner approach of intentional
collaboration uses data-driven decisions to provide effective
learning environments. Just like our coaches, we game plan
to win the day.

As you sit in the stadium today, look around at our team. Not

just the players and coaches on the field but the community of supporters in the stands.
We are Pearland ISD! We are a team that honors our traditions, embraces our present
realities, and educates to shape our future. Our team pushes for accountability, pushes
for innovation, pushes for growth, and never forgets to have a little fun. Together we are
Pearland ISD. Together we will do great things for our students, school, and city.

Thank you for coming out to the game, and I hope to see you at all our other events and
activities that celebrate the success of our students.
