A Word from the Superintendent . . . A Word from the Principal . . .

Oilers…fall is just around the corner which means Friday Night Lights is back! The
tradition continues with a new staff leading our Oilers. There is nothing better than
when the sun sets, and THE RIG lights come on in a Friday night game. Remember to
let that Oiler spirit shine on Friday night. I love seeing the Oiler Family come together
to watch the Pride of Pearland Band, Oiler Cheerleaders, Prancers, and to cheer on the
Oiler football team as they compete for victory! Bring your excitement and spirit to
show our opponents why The Rig is a special place to compete.I have been blessed to
now have served Pearland High School’s community, students, and staff for six years
now. The tradition and expectations of academic excellence, athletic dominance, and
exemplary extra-curricular participation continues. This starts with a dynamic staff that is dedicated to
providing a safe and supportive environment that holds a high standard of excellence. Walking the halls
of our campus, you can feel the tradition and great people who have set the standard of excellence at
Pearland High School. When seeking our tradition, look no further than the names of Sheryl Searcy and
G. Preston Bullard proudly displayed on and in our building. Our staff is driven to continue the tradi-
tions and success laid before us!Pearland High School’s long-standing tradition is known far beyond the
Greater Houston Area. This is only possible because our wonderful community who generously supports
all our programs. I thank you for making a positive impact on the experiences of our students and staff.
Without you, none of our success is possible. So let the sun set, turn on the lights, cheer loud, cheer
proud, and LIGHT UP THE RIG!

A Word from the Athletic Director . . .

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. The new season
certainly brings excitement, anticipation, and expectation. The work continues in the con-
stant pursuit of excellence. Certainly the best entertainment on a fall Friday night in the
entire state of Texas is under the lights at the stadium.

The pageantry of Friday Night Football is unparalleled, a single event that brings families
together for the thrill of performance, competition, and achievement. Friday night uniquely
connects the community by bridging the gap of past generations.

What is important to remember is that none of this is possible without the commitment,
sacrifice, and diligence of many; and so, to all of you who have a hand in promoting and supporting Pearland ISD
success and excellence I say thank you.

The rich tradition of high school football in TEXAS is alive and well in Pearland. Good luck to all teams. Thanks
again to all for the continued support of Pearland ISD. Enjoy the season. See you at the stadium!!!
